Virtual Account Alias

This setup allows merchants to associate unique identifiers, known as aliases, with virtual accounts, which are used to process local bank transfers through Pix.

Availability

This functionality is exclusive to Brazil.

For virtual accounts in Brazil, Localpayment offers the functionality to create an alias. An alias acts as a simplified, user-friendly identifier that links directly to your virtual account, making it easier for your customers to initiate payments.

Similar to how Pix keys function in Brazil, this alias provides a convenient way for payers to transfer funds to your virtual account without needing to manually input lengthy bank details. Instead of sharing a complex account number, you can provide a memorable alias, streamlining the payment process and improving the customer experience.

When a payment is made using this alias, Localpayment automatically routes the funds to the associated virtual account, ensuring seamless reconciliation and processing. This feature is designed to align with local payment preferences and enhance the efficiency of your operations in the Brazilian market.

Supported Alias Types

Localpayment supports the following PIX alias types for virtual accounts in Brazil:

  • Email address

  • Mobile phone number (Brazilian phone number) (+55... formato de telefono de brazil)

  • Random Key

Virtual Account Aliases offer a simplified way for customers to make bank transfers by using an easy-to-remember identifier instead of a full account number. Follow these steps to create and manage aliases for your virtual accounts.

  1. Create Virtual Account Alias: Start by creating an alias for an existing virtual account. When the request is submitted, a verification code is sent via SMS or email, depending on the alias configuration.configuration.

  2. Confirm Virtual Account Alias Creation: To activate the alias, confirm the verification code received. If the confirmation is successful, the alias becomes active and ready to receive payments.

  3. Request a New Confirmation Code: If the verification code has expired or was not received, you can request a new one.

  4. Cancel an Alias: If the alias is no longer needed or needs to be updated, it can be canceled.
