How It Works

Smart Fields uses a client-side integration where you place secure iframes—hosted by Localpayment—on your payment form. The process is designed for security and simplicity.

Integration

You integrate our JavaScript SDK into your checkout page and create designated containers in your HTML for the payment fields (card number, expiration date, and CVV).

Initialization

Your application initializes the Smart Fields SDK with your unique credentials and creates a session. The SDK then generates the individual secure iframes, which you mount into the prepared containers on your page.

Data Entry and Tokenization

Your customers enter their payment details directly into these secured iframes. As they type, the data is validated, and Localpayment's SDK securely tokenizes each field directly in the browser.

Token Consolidation

Once all fields are filled correctly, your frontend application collects the session ID and cardholder name. It then sends this data to your backend server. Your server makes a secure API call to Localpayment's consolidate endpoint to request a single-use payment token.

Payment Processing

Your backend server receives the consolidated payment token from Localpayment in the response. It then uses this token to execute the payment by making a request to the Localpayment Payins API, finalizing the transaction.
